Ulster County Youth Bureau

The Youth Bureau is a state mandated county entity responsible for the planning, coordinating and supplementing of activities devoted to the well-being and protection of all youth in Ulster County. With the assistance of the Youth Board, a citizen's advisory board, the Youth Bureau recommends policies that promote youth development and prevent delinquency. The Youth Bureau receives funding from the Office of Children and Family Services. Programs in Ulster County seeking financial assistance submit formal applications to the Youth Board and, based on identified needs, the Board makes final funding recommendations to the County Legislature for approval. The Youth Bureau and Youth Board serve as a county-wide resource and support system for youth programs and seek to expand public awareness of youth issues.

Prevention Connections

Ulster County's prevention coalition with a mission to promote healthier lifestyles, enhance community awareness of the negative impact of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs on violence, crime, DWI, family life, health complications such as HIV/AIDS, preventable injuries and deaths, and reduce the use and abuse of all drugs, especially by young people.
